Wyoming Governor’s Reading Challenge

Wyoming Department of Education > For Parents & Students > Wyoming Governor’s Reading Challenge

It’s time to pick up those books and dive into new adventures! The annual Wyoming Governor’s Summer Reading Challenge is back, launching on June 10th and running until August 22nd!

In partnership with the State Superintendent, Wyoming Department of Education, and the Wyoming State Library, Governor Mark Gordon is challenging all Wyoming students to read as many minutes as possible over their summer break. Schools and students will be recognized for their participation and the total number of minutes their students read.

The school with the most reading minutes per student will receive a special visit in Fall 2024 from Governor Gordon, State Superintendent Megan Degenfelder, and a member of the Wyoming State Library team to celebrate their outstanding reading achievement.

So grab those books, e-readers, or tablets and get reading! Every minute spent lost in a story counts towards your school’s total. The more you read, the further your imagination can travel over the summer months. Will your school be the state’s top reader?

Let’s make this the most book-filled summer yet, Wyoming!
