12-04-2023 WDE Launches 2023-28 Wyoming Digital Learning Plan

The 2023-28 Wyoming Digital Learning Plan has been released to ensure Wyoming’s students have equitable access to opportunities at the forefront of digital learning in keeping with the requirements of W.S. 21-2-202(a)(xx). The plan serves as a five-year strategic framework to guide the state in improving digital learning opportunities and outcomes. For more information, visit this page.

The plan is organized around six themes that were identified through stakeholder input via listening sessions, surveys, and focus groups. The six themes address instruction and learning; digital citizenship and digital literacy; staff professional learning; collaboration among the state’s education system, parents, and the community; robust infrastructure and educational technology; and data privacy and security. For each theme, the plan includes a definition, strategic intents, and recommended strategies for addressing digital learning at the state, postsecondary, district, and school levels. The strategies are suggestions, not mandates.

For its part, the WDE will carry out the state strategies identified in the plan and support districts and schools with their efforts to implement strategies that address local needs. In addition, the WDE will meet quarterly with the Digital Learning Plan Advisory Panel to review progress and work on the implementation of initiatives.
