The Wyoming Department of Education (WDE) opened the Cutting Edge Grant on July 1, 2023, and is available to Perkins funded Programs of Study. The Perkins Cutting Edge Grant program seeks to identify evidence-based and innovative strategies or activities that promote the development, implementation and adoption of Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs in regards to emerging technology. The application will be open for submission until August 31, 2023. Applications will be reviewed and scored by a grant review committee with notification to selected applicants occurring no later than September 15, 2023. Applications can be made by more than one program of study, however, only the application with the highest score per college, district, or consortium will be awarded. Grant awards will be equal to or less than $25,000 and all funds must be expended by June 30, 2024.
Preference points will be given for each of the following: 1) Next Gen partnership; 2) an after school program; and 3) business and industry partnership. An additional two preference points will be given if the aforementioned is directly related to the comprehensive local need assessment’s high-skill, high-wage and in-demand identification. Previous grantees that failed to meet all requirements of the award are not eligible to apply. Apply for this opportunity now.
