This session will review the newly released WDE Out-of-District and Parental Placement guidance documents, covering several types of student placements and focusing on the roles and responsibilities of both district- and institutional school special educators and administrators under the IDEA and Wyoming Chapter 7. Topics for this session will include: IEP Team Placements, Court-Ordered Placements, Medically Necessary Parental Placements, Parental Placements in Private Schools and Homeschools, and Parental Placements Funded by Private Insurance. Time will be allotted at the end of the presentation for questions from school district participants.
