11-20-2023 21STCCLC Cohort 16 Application Open Though December 11

The application for the Cohort 16 competition under Title IV, Part B, the Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21stCCLC) is open in the Grants Management System. The deadline is 5 p.m. Monday, December 11.  Approximately $1.8 million are available for the first year of this four-year cohort.

As required by federal legislation, the Wyoming Department of Education (WDE) will give priority to proposals that serve schools identified for comprehensive or targeted support, as well as other low-performing, schoolwide Title I-eligible schools. All schools to be served must have a free and reduced lunch eligibility rate of at least 25%.

Eligible applicants include school districts, community-based organizations, American Indian tribes or tribal organizations, other private or public entities, or a consortium of two or more such organizations, pursuant to §4201(b)(3) of ESEA as amended by ESSA. Community-based organizations must partner with the school district and schools being served in order to effectively share data and support positive outcomes for students and families.

Applicants must apply for funding to support:

  • A school-year program designed to serve students attending eligible schools named in the grant proposal before and/or after the regular school day, in addition to a summer learning program that incorporates expanded opportunities in academics and youth development.
  • Strategic and intentional family engagement focused on learning, and designed to increase active and meaningful engagement of a 21stCCLC participant’s family members.

If an interested organization didn’t submit an Intent to Apply as previously announced in June 2023, please submit a request for information to determine eligibility to apply for Cohort 16 or to prepare to apply for any subsequent competitions.
