02-26-2024 WDE Awards $1.66 Million for Afterschool and Summer Learning

The Wyoming Department of Education has awarded a total of $1.66 million during FY 2023 to eight applicants for the Cohort 16 grant competition under Title IV, Part B, of the Every Student Succeeds Act, known as the Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers Program (21stCCLC). 

The four-year award supports the creation or expansion of high-quality after-school and summer learning programs that serve students attending low performing and high needs schools. There are 25 organizations utilizing 37 grant awards to provide 21stCCLC programs in Wyoming.

Cohort 16 Subgrantees and Annual Allocations (February 2024-September 2027):

  • ASK Program ($220,000.00) – Cheyenne.
  • Big Horn County School District #2, in partnership with Big Horn County School District #1 – ($215,356.96) – Cowley, Lovell, Burlington.
  • Boys & Girls Clubs of Douglas ($171,000.00) – Douglas.
  • Crook County School District #1 ($216,567.04) – Sundance, Moorcroft, Hulett.
  • Greater Wyoming Big Brothers Big Sisters  ($220,000.00) – Laramie.
  • Lincoln County School District #2 ($220,000.00) – Afton, Etna, Thayne, Cokeville. 
  • Sheridan County School District #2 ($245,000.00) – Sheridan.
  • Sublette County School District #9 ($150,000.00) – Big Piney.
