Successful implementation requires more than adopting evidence-based practices—it requires intentional planning, effective leadership, ongoing monitoring, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
As outlined in Component 7: Implementation & Continuous Improvement at the Local Level of the Wyoming Language and Literacy Plan (WLLP), implementation is the process of translating research, policy, and evidence-based instructional practices into effective classroom instruction that improves student outcomes. Continuous improvement ensures those practices are regularly evaluated, refined, and strengthened through data-informed decision-making, stakeholder feedback, and collaborative problem-solving.
To support this work, the Wyoming Department of Education has developed these Implementation Science Resources to help districts move from policy into practice. Grounded in nationally recognized implementation science frameworks, including the National Implementation Research Network (NIRN), these resources provide practical tools, guidance, and implementation supports that assist districts in planning, installing, implementing, and sustaining evidence-based language and literacy practices.
The Wyoming Department of Education partners with school districts throughout the implementation process by providing ongoing technical assistance, professional learning, implementation guidance, and collaborative support. Through this partnership, districts receive resources and coaching to strengthen local capacity, address implementation challenges, and build sustainable systems that improve language and literacy outcomes for all students.
