August 12-13, 2026
Riverton, Wyoming
The conference aims to assist teachers of tribal youth but is open to all as many sessions address issues beyond the classroom. It is not just for teachers nor tribal members. We welcome anyone interested in learning more about our Northern Arapaho and Eastern Shoshone friends, and in learning best classroom practices and other activities that will help all students.
Workshops and presentations include:
- Understanding Native American history and culture
- Classroom techniques and lesson plans to enhance student achievement
- Addressing students’ well-being
- Inspiring youth leadership and empowerment
The conference also recognizes and honors the top Native American youth across the state with the annual Pacesetter Award.
Call for Presenters
The conference invites presenters who are passionate about uplifting Native youth and advancing Indigenous education. This year’s theme, “Walking Together: Forging a Collective Path through Indigenous Knowledge,” calls for sessions that inspire pride, strengthen community connections, and honor the lived experiences of Wyoming’s tribal nations.
Proposals are due April 19 and should align with one or more focus areas:
- Supporting instructional and learning needs of Native American students
- Empowering youth and addressing their physical, social, and emotional well‑being
- Building strong relationships among schools, families, tribes, and communities
- Strengthening resilience and perseverance
- Deepening understanding of Wyoming’s tribal nations—their histories, cultures, and contemporary contributions
