The current Teacher Authoring tool provided by Cambium will be discontinued at the end of SY 2025-26. All teacher-created items currently in the system will be migrated to the new authoring system. However, tests that utilize Cambium-created/pre-built items will not be migrated. Additionally, the system will not be able to migrate any test forms; only assessment items.
The new Pearson system will include a teacher authoring tool to create new items, but it will not include pre-built items. Districts will be provided with a separate system that includes pre-built classroom formative assessments, items, learning maps, and instructional materials aligned to the Wyoming Content & Performance Standards. The WDE will offer professional development on the new systems prior to the start of SY 2026-27.
The following are required actions to be taken by teachers:
- Teachers must immediately cease creating items in the current authoring system.
- Districts and teachers must name items appropriately so they can be identified after migration. All edits to items must be completed by May 15.
- Districts and teachers should print test forms created using teacher-authored items for future reference. Pre-built items are owned by Cambium and cannot be retained by teachers after June 30, 2026.
