The Wyoming Department of Education, in partnership with Prodigy Learning and Microsoft, is announcing the free AI Ready Skills Credential Program to schools. To set up your school account, navigate to the AI Ready Skills webpage and follow the instructions on the “Get Started” page. School leaders can also register for a training on November 5 and 11.

This credential program develops and demonstrates students’ AI skills, giving them a crucial foundation in AI literacy. The WDE provides school licenses for the credentials and supporting curriculum, along with educator professional development, at no cost to schools. Students learn in a series of Minecraft Education worlds and demonstrate their skills through both formative and summative assessments, including a capstone credential exam.

The program aligns with the Impact of Computing strand of the Wyoming Computer Science Content & Performance Standards for grades 6-8 and 9-12 and provides foundational knowledge in Artificial Intelligence. It includes four units: Introduction to AI, Exploring Data and AI, Coding and AI, and Practicing Responsible AI.

Schools have unlimited access to all curriculum and credentials in the pathway and can take advantage of in-person, virtual, or self-paced teacher professional development offered throughout the year to support the implementation of this program.

The license also includes free access to the Coding in Minecraft and Cyber in Minecraft Credential Programs along with associated professional development.
