Join ASCEND 307 from 4–5 p.m. on May 6 for the final installment in a series of monthly webinars to share an in-depth analysis of employability (essential readiness) skills that support students with disabilities in gaining employment and providing pathways for them to meaningfully participate in their communities. Register here.

This month’s webinar will showcase the work of Uinta County School District #1, which partnered with ASCEND 307 to help advance the grant’s goals. UCSD #1 will discuss the process of being an ASCEND 307 cohort district. Panelists will discuss UCSD1’s new teacher induction program, the successes and challenges of coaching and training new Special Education teachers, how to support teachers in the classroom, and how the new teacher induction program has led to higher teacher retention rates.

ASCEND 307 is a multi-year initiative developed through a federal grant awarded to the Wyoming Department of Education. The overarching goal of the grant is to improve outcomes for students with disabilities by enhancing personnel preparation and professional development in education and transition services.
