  • Digital Presence: Look for a dedicated Military Families section on your district’s website with an Advance Enrollment Guide. Your student is considered a resident for registration purposes as soon as you receive official military orders to a Wyoming installation.
  • Centralized Portal: Many online registration systems have a specific option for Military Advance Enrollment to temporarily bypass the typical proof of local residency requirement.

  • Official Military Orders (PCS orders) serve as the temporary substitute for a local utility bill or lease agreement for remote registration.
  • The 10-Day Rule: You must provide the traditional proof of residence (lease, mortgage, or utility bill) within ten (10) days after your student’s first day of physical attendance.

  • Immediate Continuity: Schools accept unofficial copies of your child’s IEP or 504 plan during Advance Enrollment to begin preliminary placement and service planning.
  • Pre-Arrival Consultations: You may be offered a virtual meeting with the school’s Special Education Coordinator to review the IEP and prepare necessary accommodations.
  • Legal Requirement: The Compact requires the school to provide “comparable services” based on your child’s current IEP from the sending state.
