Wagonwheel Elementary School in Campbell County School District #1 and Pineview Elementary School in Natrona County School District #1 are the 2024 Wyoming National Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) Distinguished School Award winners for 2024.

Both schools exceeded Wyoming’s 2023-24 statewide low-income percentage calculated at 38% and met the 2023-24 Wyoming Accountability in Education Act (WAEA) accountability criteria. Wagonwheel Elementary School maintained high achievements for two years in a row with rankings in 2022-2023 of Exceeding Expectations and in 2023-24 of Meeting Expectations and Pineview Elementary School moved from 2022-23 Partially Meeting Expectations to 2023-24 Meeting Expectations.

The National ESEA Distinguished School Program is a project of the National Association of ESEA State Program Administrators and recognizes qualifying schools receiving federal funding from each state for their outstanding achievements in education. Only two schools per state are selected each year, making this award an especially prestigious honor.

The awardees will be honored at a special ceremony during the 2025 National ESEA Conference, which will be held in Austin, Texas, from February 19–21, 2025.
