The Wyoming Department of Education (WDE) is seeking presentation proposals for the Wyoming SRP Academy, to be held June 2-3 at the Ford Wyoming Center in Casper.

The event will strengthen school safety by providing targeted connections, training, and resources for school resource officers, school nurses, school counselors, and any personnel involved with building safer school communities.

Presentation proposals must be submitted by March 1. Selection notifications will be sent by April 1. Chosen presenters will receive a stipend of $1500. Submit your proposal here.

The Wyoming SRP Academy will focus on student-centered practices, including youth resiliency, trauma-informed school safety, and the promotion of integrity within the school-law enforcement partnership. This comprehensive professional development experience will include:

  • Specialized Training. Intensive sessions on de-escalation and practices for special populations.
  • Threat Assessment Training. Focused on adolescent development and identifying signs of student distress.
  • Statewide Networking. Opportunities to connect with partners from the Wyoming Office of Homeland Security, DCI, and local law enforcement.
  • Collaborative Panels. Discussions featuring legislators, counselors, and resource officers on current safety issues facing the state.
