Criminology
This course is a Project Based Learning course (PBL) and is designed as an exploration of a career in law. In this course, students explore basic concepts in the broad areas within the National Career Clusters’ Framework, as well as career options in various clusters. Students study the concepts of crime, deviance, research methods, psychoanalytic theories of crime, modeling theories, social structure, crimes against persons and property, whitecollar crime, the criminal case process, corrections, and more. Students complete projects to develop a deeper understanding of the roles these career functions play. *Attendance at Class Connects sessions are mandatory for this course, and attendance will affect a student’s grade.
