One math teacher and three science teachers have been selected as the Wyoming State Finalists for the 2025 Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) for grades 7-12. PAEMST is the highest recognition a K-12 Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM, including Computer Science) teacher can receive in the U.S.

The Math state finalist is Julie Grant, Central High School in Cheyenne. The Science state finalists are Richard Atnip, Lander Valley High School in Lander, Susie Fisher, Tongue River Middle School in Ranchester, and Jennifer Merriam, East High School in Cheyenne.

Awardees serve as models for their colleagues, inspiration to their schools and communities, and leaders in the state and nation. This growing network of award-winning teachers serves as a vital national resource to improve mathematics and science education.
