The Wyoming Department of Education (WDE) is launching the Statewide Needs Assessment Survey for the 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21CCLC) program (Cohort 17). This assessment aims to identify capacities, gaps, and specific needs of Out-of-School Time programs across the state, as required by federal law under ESSA Title IV, Part B.
The data will shape the Cohort 17 grant competition, ensuring that funding and technical assistance reach Wyoming communities where they are most needed. The survey seeks responses from school district and LEA representatives, community-based organizations or non-profit providers, parents, guardians, or caregivers of PreK–12 students, and other interested community partners.
To ensure a representative sample, district leaders and program directors are asked to complete the survey to provide insight on programmatic focus areas, funding barriers, waitlists, and operational capacities. Distributing the survey link to families via newsletters, communication apps, or social media is encouraged to better identify potential barriers to participation, including transportation, cost, or scheduling.
The 5-7 minute needs assessment survey is available online and closes on October 1, 2026.
