Accreditation reports must be submitted to the Wyoming Department of Education (WDE) by November 1. The report must include the annual evidence sheet and assurances. Evidence submitted annually to the WDE through this process is used to verify adherence to Chapter 6 Rules and Regulations, which define the process for District and School Accreditation.

The WDE has emailed an annual report template and JotForm link directly to superintendents to collect assurances and attachments. Districts should carefully review this year’s form, as several evidence items have been updated:

  • Native Education Program Description: A new evidence item documenting implementation of existing statewide expectations. Districts must demonstrate evidence of how Native Education for All is incorporated into local programming and how students engage with American Indian history, cultural heritage, and contemporary contributions through Wyoming standards.
  • Chapter 3 Graduation Policy Alignment: This review will evaluate district graduation policies to ensure compliance with the new requirements for coursework, competency options, and learning progressions in Chapter 3.
  • Language & Literacy Reporting: Districts will submit their designated Language & Literacy Leadership Coalition Representative instead of submitting full Literacy Plans. The WDE will review local plans internally through survey results to reduce duplicative reporting.

Due to the delayed release of the 2025–26 WAEA results, School Improvement Plans are due December 1, 2026, to allow time for current accountability data integration.

The WDE will review the submitted evidence from November 1 to March 1 and will report a district’s accreditation recommendation to the State Board of Education for approval in June. This review includes a District Assessment System plan and, where applicable, a School Improvement Plan(s).
