The Wyoming Department of Education (WDE) has updated the Wyoming Standing Orders for Allergy/Anaphylaxis. The terminology has been broadened by removing “auto-injector” to encompass alternative routes of administration, including intranasal delivery. The updated Standing Orders can also be found on the WDE Resource website.
Standing Orders require a signature from a licensed medical provider. Districts without an available local provider may request a signature from Dr. Alexia Harrist at the Wyoming Department of Health (WDH).
The Guidelines for Administration of Stock Epinephrine have been revised to remove auto-injectors. This update aligns with state law, which allows for epinephrine administration regardless of the delivery mode.
