The Wyoming Department of Education has provided guidance and resources to support districts with the transition to the new statewide assessment vendor during the summer of 2026. Access to the Cambium assessment system will end on June 30, and districts should download any data needing to be retained from those systems.
Summative and Interim Assessments
- Fall and Winter Interims remain optional. Summative WY-TOPP and WY-ALT remain required.
- NO data will be available in the Pearson ADAM system until Fall 2027 to allow for standard setting with the new items, measurement scale, and reporting system.
- This includes Interim and Summative Assessments in all 3 content areas for both WY-TOPP & WY-ALT.
- Districts should still participate as normal. This data will be put into the ADAM system after standard setting. Interim data will continue to be used at the state level for decision-making.
- No Modular Assessments will be available. The NAVVY system is replacing them.
- NAVVY is a standalone system that is available on demand and will produce data immediately.

Training and Support
Training will take place in August. Click here to learn more.
- For the 2026–27 school year, in August, every district must ensure a minimum of one representative completes the following training:
- District Test Coordinator: Attend an in-person training.
- Technology Coordinator: Attend the virtual training.
- Virtual Education Program Test Coordinator: Attend an in-person DTC training and the virtual technology coordinator training.
- NAVVY training will be offered in person and virtually in August, with additional support for districts throughout the school year.
- Pearson and the WDE will coordinate to provide support to districts when setting up and administering assessments within the Pearson system.
- Access the WY Pearson Assessment portal at wyoassessment.org starting August 4.
Manuals, Guidance, Policy Documents
- During the transition to the new system, districts should dispose of all legacy Cambium materials, including manuals, forms, and guidance documents. This step is critical to prevent confusion and ensure a smooth, secure assessment administration.
- All WDE guidance documents are currently being updated for the 2026-27 school year and will be available on August 4.
- Updated documents will be hosted on the WDE District Resources Website and wyoassessment.org, with direct integration into the Pearson platform.
