The US Census Bureau has released estimated census data for calculating Title I, Part A allocations for local educational agencies (LEAs) for federal fiscal year 2024 (SY 2024-25). Census data information for 2021-22 is provided by state as well as 2022 census poverty data for each Wyoming school district. Review of the 2022 poverty data is important, because this is the information used to determine 2024-25 Title I, Part A eligibility and allocations for each LEA. The challenge period to review 2022 poverty and population data for certain non-statistical errors upon processing information to define geographic school district boundaries ends March 13, 2024.

This memo explains the purpose of the census data and the process used to determine LEAs eligibility and allocations. LEAs are encouraged to verify the accuracy of their school district boundaries via this website.  For information on how to challenge the data, contact the Small Area Income and Poverty Estimates (SAIPE) Branch at 301-763-3193 or sehsd.saipe@census.gov. When sending an email, include your name, mailing address, telephone number, and organization affiliation.
