Any school district planning to offer virtual education in the 2025-2026 school year must complete the following steps: 1. Submission of the online Program Application & Renewal Form. 2. Submission of the signed Program Assurance. 3. If the program will be offered full-time, submission of the signed Curriculum Assurance and a copy of the 2025-2026 virtual education program student and parent handbook. 4. Submission of the completed Application Narrative. All program renewal and application documents are due by April 30, 2025. Course Submission
Submission of individual virtual education course syllabi for review and approval is no longer required but the WDE638 WISE Course Inventory collection with virtual education courses must be submitted July 1 to 31. Virtual education courses must be approved prior to student enrollment. .
Professional Development
The Wyoming Department of Education sponsors a variety of Professional Development opportunities created by the WDE and Quality Matters (QM). Credit from these courses counts toward the yearly professional development requirement all virtual education teachers must complete. Each year virtual education teachers must take a minimum of 7 hours of PD (½ PTSB credit) related to teaching in virtual education, or the teacher must hold a Virtual Educator Endorsement on their Wyoming teacher certificate.

Quality Matters (QM) PD
Quality Matters (QM) training opportunities, including the QM Teaching Online Certificate, are available to all educators in our state and are pre-approved for PSTB credit. Teachers must submit their completed QM courses or workshops for Professional Teaching Standards Board credit on their own. See the flyers below for additional information about the QM offerings.
