Any school district planning to offer virtual education in the 2025-2026 school year must complete the following steps: 1. Submission of the online Program Application & Renewal Form. 2. Submission of the signed Program Assurance. 3. If the program will be offered full-time, submission of the signed Curriculum Assurance and a copy of the 2025-2026 student and parent handbook. 4. If the district didn’t have a virtual education program approved for the 2024-2025 school year or updates are needed, submission of the completed Application Narrative.
Course Submission
Submission of individual virtual education course syllabi for review and approval is no longer required but the WDE638 WISE Course Inventory collection with virtual education courses must be submitted July 1 to 31. All program renewal and application documents and the WDE638 collection are due by July 31, 2025. Quality Matters Professional Development
The Wyoming Department of Education sponsors a variety of Quality Matters (QM) training opportunities, including the QM Teaching Online Certificate, that are available to all educators in our state. The QM workshops and online courses can be used as part of the required professional development all virtual education teachers must complete each year as long as the training is submitted for Professional Teaching Standards Board credit.
