The Wyoming Department of Education seeks presenters for the 17th annual Native American Education Conference. Being held August 12-13 at Central Wyoming College in Riverton, the conference aims to instill pride and strengthen the engagement of Native youth. It is free to attend. This year’s theme is “Walking Together: Forging a Collective Path through Indigenous Knowledge.” Submit your proposal by April 19.
Presentation proposals must be aligned with one or more of the following:
- Supporting instructional and learning needs of Native American students, including teaching to the Wyoming education standards.
- Empowering youth and supporting the physical, social, and emotional needs of Native American students.
- Building relationships between the schools, families, tribes, and communities.
- Strengthening resilience and perseverance.
- Improving understanding of Wyoming’s tribal nations – their histories, culture, and contemporary contributions.
