(Typically taken during 10th grade)Course Description: This is a general survey course in World History. While some emphasis will be in the history of Western civilization, there is mych value in learning hte history of other parts of the world. Units of study in the second trimester will include: Imperialism, World War I, Causes & Effects of World War II, The Cold War & Associated Global Events, The Middle East in the last century. Also taught are Historical Thinking such as understaning cause and effect, determining turning points, differing between perspectives, analyzing primary sources, etc.
