Work Experience 1B
This course provides students credit for a work-based learning experience (employment, internship, apprenticeship, etc.) of 60+ hours. Goals and career preparation tasks may be set cooperatively by the student, teacher, and/or employer (although students are not necessarily paid). This course includes a weekly check-in classroom activity, involving further study of the field or discussion regarding experiences that students encounter in the workplace. Students will submit at the end of the course a “portfolio” containing the following: a completed interest survey with clearly stated career goals, a cover letter, a completed resume and a letter of recommendation either from the employer and or another credible source. Note: evidence of hours worked must be submitted on a monthly basis using verifiable methods such as work verification, paystub, electronic timesheet, etc. *This course may be repeated for credit
