Students will read a variety of literature, including short stories, novels, poetry, and non-fiction essays. Arthur Miller’s The Crucible will also be required. Students will improve their critical-thinking skills as they determine the underlying assumptions and values within the selected works and understand how literature reflects the society of the time.
