Second graders continue their history journey (grades 1-4) from the Stone Age to the Space Age. Through stories and activities, they explore ancient Rome and Julius Caesar, learn about Christianity’s beginnings in the Roman Empire, and hear tales of Vikings. They discover early Islamic civilization, meet medieval European knights, and hear stories of St. George, Robin Hood, and Joan of Arc. Students visit African kingdoms like Ghana, Mali, and Songhai, travel the Silk Road, meet emperor Kublai Khan, and learn about samurai and religions in feudal Japan.
