Public Speaking
Students are introduced to public speaking as a vital skill for academic, work, and social settings. They learn to be fair and critical listeners of spoken information and persuasion. The course covers various speech types—informative, persuasive, dramatic, and special occasion—and students study, prepare, and present speeches to diverse audiences. They practice choosing topics, adapting content, researching, and using listener feedback. Instruction includes using visual and multimedia aids, maintaining credibility online, understanding speaking ethics, and managing communication anxiety.
