Phonics 1 E1
The English Language Arts 1 program includes ELA 1 and Phonics 1, offering a balanced literacy approach that integrates phonics, reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, spelling, and handwriting. Students build comprehension and vocabulary through thematic units anchored by focus texts, exploring classic and contemporary works across genres. Instruction combines teacher-led lessons and independent practice. Starting second semester, students do focused grammar activities and write compositions. Phonics uses multisensory methods to teach decoding and sight words. Spelling and handwriting instruction build on these skills.
