Native American Studies
The portrayal of Native American history and culture is often stereotypical, inaccurate, outdated, and misrepresented. Native American Studies is an elective course designed to enhance the knowledge and understanding of the Eastern Shoshone, Northern Arapaho, and other indigenous tribes from Wyoming. This course will provide an opportunity for students to explore the accurate history of the people who helped to shape and define our state. Students will learn the history of the Wind River Reservation and how the people and culture have been able to survive for generations. Students will examine the profound impact of Native American Culture, tradition, and politics within our state.
