Music 2
Beginning 2 Music is for students who completed K12’s Beginning 1 program. Using traditional folk songs and games, students learn to read more complex melodic patterns and rhythms. Listening to composers like Vivaldi and Saint-Saëns, they recognize these patterns in music. Students sing folk songs, move to music, listen actively, read and write music, recognize melodies in three- and four-note patterns, identify rhythms including half notes, learn about string and percussion instruments, recognize duple and triple meter, and begin to understand standard musical notation.
