Math 3 A

In Math 3 A, the student will develop strategies for addition and subtraction within 1,000, build a foundation in multiplication using equal groups, arrays, and number lines, and gain fluency with multiplication facts. They will explore area and its connection to multiplication, and learn the basics of division through models and equal groups. Concepts are developed through mathematical processes, such as problem-solving, communicating, representing, and making connections. By building both conceptual knowledge and procedural fluency, students strengthen their mathematical thinking and are better equipped to solve a variety of real-world problems. Portfolios in this course encourage students to explore and apply their understanding and creativity by developing original products that demonstrate mastery of targeted skills.
