Grade 8 Science A

8th Grade Science will challenge students with an integrated study of the Earth, physical, and biological sciences. Students will consider the fundamentals of matter and energy, along with the application of energy, force, and motion in physics. Students will better understand the changing Earth as they survey physical processes, such as erosion, plate tectonics, and weather. The relationship between the Earth, Sun, and Moon is explored as well as the components and laws of outer space and the universe. Students will learn how organisms live, compete with each other, and survive changes in both land and aquatic ecosystems. The course concludes with a look at the structures of living systems, including cells and human organ systems.
