ELA 2
ELA 2 offers an integrated literacy program combining reading, writing, grammar, word study, and handwriting. Students work through 12 thematic units, each with workshops anchored by a focus text. They engage with classic and contemporary works across genres and formats through read-alouds, independent reading, and close reading. Writing instruction includes modeled texts, the writing process, and grammar application. Vocabulary is built through context clues, word parts, and word relationships. The course also includes phonics, phonological awareness, and spelling based on common patterns.
