Earth Science A
Offered 1st semester, Summit Earth Science builds on students’ natural curiosity by connecting them to geological history, landforms, seas, air, and the universe. Students explore geology, oceanography, meteorology, and astronomy. Topics include Earth’s minerals and rocks, interior, plate tectonics, earthquakes, volcanoes, continent movements, fossils, oceans, atmosphere, and the solar system. Lesson assignments guide students in understanding how scientists investigate our planet’s science and relate it to the everyday world.
