AP Lab*
Advanced Placement (AP) Lab is a credit-bearing support course offered during the third trimester for students enrolled in an Advanced Placement (AP) course. Designed to enhance student readiness and performance on the College Board AP Exam, this course provides structured review, targeted skill development, and individualized academic support aligned to the content and expectations of the student’s AP course.Students engage in comprehensive content review, practice with AP-style multiple-choice and free-response questions, exam-taking strategies, time management, critical thinking, and analytical writing appropriate to their AP discipline. Instruction is guided by student performance data and emphasizes mastery of key concepts, effective study habits, and the application of advanced academic skills required for success on the AP Exam.The course also provides opportunities for independent practice, collaborative learning, teacher conferencing, and personalized intervention in areas of need. Students complete cumulative review activities, analyze released AP exam materials, and refine the skills necessary for college-level coursework and assessments.Enrollment is limited to students concurrently enrolled in or completing an Advanced Placement course and preparing to take the corresponding College Board AP Exam during the third trimester. Credit is awarded for successful completion of the course requirements. Participation in the AP Exam is encouraged in accordance with district and College Board policies.
