
The Wyoming Department of Education awards the Blue Ribbon School Award each year to recognize schools that demonstrate overall academic excellence or make significant progress in closing achievement gaps.
Schools are required to submit a comprehensive application detailing their school culture, curriculum, assessments, instructional practices, professional development, leadership, and family and community involvement. Information on the 2026 award will be forthcoming.
Schools are awarded in three categories: Exemplary High Performance, Exemplary Achievement-Gap Closing, or both.
To qualify for the Wyoming Blue Ribbon School award, schools must:
- Have an enrollment greater than 100 students.
- Have at least 40% of enrollment classified as low-income.
- Meet or exceed the Wyoming Accountability in Education Act accountability criteria.

- Ralph Witters Elementary – Hot Springs County #1.
- Velma Linford Elementary – Albany County #1.
- Wagonwheel Elementary – Campbell County #1.
