Special education teachers will be empowered during a free, three-part series on Practical Approaches to Designing and Implementing Specially Designed Instructional (SDI) Adaptations. This series will focus on content, methodology, and delivery– three areas of instructional adaptations necessary for designing and implementing. Sessions will be held from 4–5 p.m. Register here.
- January 9: Practical Approaches to SDI Content Adaptations.
- January 23: Practical Approaches to SDI Methodology Adaptations.
- February 6: Practical Approaches to SDI Delivery Adaptations.
This training is interactive and will explore the areas of SDI to provide practical and effective approaches to designing and implementing adaptations. For full benefit, participants should have access to at least one IEP, internet, and note taking material. Attendees will have access to resources following each session.
Learning Objectives:
- Describe the three elements of instruction that can be adapted for specially designed instruction under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
- Use practical approaches to develop and implement SDI adaptations for students with disabilities.
- Access available resources to refine skills to effectively and efficiently implement SDI adaptations documented in the IEP.
We highly encourage attendees to take the below 3 modules on SDI before attending to have more knowledge on the subject matter. The self-paced modules should take under an hour each to complete and can be accessed here.
