The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) serves as a cornerstone for protecting students’ educational records and information, ensuring compliance within educational institutions.

To foster a safe and conducive learning environment while upholding student privacy rights, the Wyoming Department of Education will facilitate a one hour, virtual FERPA webinar conducted by an expert from the U.S. Department of Education Student Privacy Policy Office Privacy Technical Assistance Center.

School resource officers, law enforcement personnel, school and district administrators, and district information and technology officers can join us on Wednesday, November. 15 from 23 p.m. Participants will gain an understanding of FERPA regulations, specifically as FERPA relates to law enforcement, to empower effective decision-making and best practices in the K–12 realm.
