WY-TOPP Interims (optional)
The WY-TOPP Fall Interim Window is open from September 9–October 3. Optional interim assessments for English Language Arts (ELA) and math are available for students in grades 3–10, and for science for students in grades 4, 8, and 10. These assessments offer a mini-summative opportunity for districts to gather baseline data to inform curriculum decisions for the upcoming school year. Educators administering the assessment should review the following testing documents:
- Test Information Distribution Engine (TIDE) Manual.
- Test Administrator User Guide.
- Fall and Winter Test Administration Manual.
Districts should ensure that the assessment security training has been completed and the Wyoming Assessment Security Agreements for K-12 Statewide Assessments have been signed. For more on assessment security measures, refer to Wyoming’s Assessment Security Guide.
WY-TOPP Modulars (optional)
The WY-TOPP Modular assessment window is open from September 9–June 16, 2026. The optional on-demand WY-TOPP Modulars include ELA and math in grades 1–HS and science in grades 3–HS. These assessments are semi-secure and can be used as classroom assessments. They should not be used as instruction.
WDE Assessment Monitoring for 2025-26 School Year
The WDE uses a dual-pronged monitoring system to ensure the security and proper administration of state assessments. This system ensures adherence to live test administration security protocols and allows for the review of district-level policies and training.
Districts selected for monitoring during the 2025-26 SY will receive notification on October 1. Notified districts have until December 15 to submit their assessment manual and supporting documentation review. Upon completion of this review, the WDE will schedule an on-site visit during a summative test administration window. The visit will verify that districts are following all security protocols.
