The Wyoming Department of Education (WDE) Chapter 6 Rules and Regulations define the process for District and School Accreditation. The process includes an accreditation annual report including evidence and assurances aligned with the accreditation criteria. This evidence enables the WDE to verify adherence to Chapter 6 Rules.
The annual accreditation report is due by November 1, including the annual evidence sheet, assurances, and, where applicable, School Improvement Plans using an online JotForm. The annual report template and JotForm link will be emailed to superintendents directly.
Submitted evidence will be reviewed from November 1 through March 1, 2025, with preliminary recommendations shared with the district superintendent on May 1st. Final accreditation recommendations will be presented to the State Board of Education for approval in June. This review includes a District Assessment System Plan and where applicable, School Improvement Plans.
Due to the delay in releasing the WAEA data, the WDE requests that School Improvement Plans be submitted by December 1. All affected schools have previously received communication about School Improvement Plans directly from Beth Lougee, Statewide System of Support Program Manager, and can send further inquiries to beth.lougee@wyo.gov.
This change can also affect the submission deadline for small school review improvement plans, if necessary, to February 1, 2025, in accordance with education rule Chapter 47, Section 13.
