The Wyoming Department of Education (WDE), Special Education Programs Division, is pleased to announce our in-person SPED Conference, formerly known as the Week of Academic Vision for Excellence (WAVE) Conference, to be held July 30 – 31, 2025. This conference will be an intensive workshop for special education teachers focused on specially designed instruction (SDI) in the areas of academic, functional, and behavioral skills. Come learn from
expert trainers Dr. Tessie Bailey and Christine Manning as they take special educators on a deep dive into the development and implementation of SDI. For all new SPED teachers with three years of experience or less, join us for a pre-conference day on July 29, 2025. Please note the separate registration below.

Cost: $175.00

New SPED Teacher Boot Camp

Are you a new special education teacher with three years or less experience? Join WDE for a pre-conference day (New Special Education Teacher Boot Camp) to learn and discuss topics such as classroom management, caseload scheduling, progress monitoring, data, paraprofessionals, and more. Your ticket will also include the 2025 SPED Conference July 30-31.
Audience: New special education teachers with three (3) years experience or less
Location: Little America Hotel and Resort, Wyoming Room, Cheyenne, Wyoming
Cost: Pre-Conference SPED New Teacher Boot Camp and SPED Conference Cost: $200.00
- This cost includes registration for the boot camp and SPED conference, snacks, drink service, and lunch for three days.
