The Wyoming Innovation Partnership (WIP) has a multi-year blueprint that includes five broad areas, including Digital Infrastructure and Technology. The next phase of the plan involves implementing a digital credential wallet to securely manage academic degrees, professional certifications, micro-credentials, and government-issued documents.

WIP members are contracting with DigiCred to build the wallet, which, in the early phase, will include both high school and college transcripts. To reduce data burden on school districts, the WDE will create a memorandum of understanding with each school district and independent charter schools to share senior transcript data with DigiCred for the purpose of creating a digital wallet for all Wyoming graduates. Once the application is built, it will be up to students to determine what organizations or persons will have access to their microcredential. Students under the age of eighteen will be required to obtain parental permission to use the credentialing system.

District and independent charter school Superintendents will receive a draft MOU for review before submission to the Wyoming Attorney General’s Office.

(WIP) is a collaboration between the Wyoming Governor’s Office, Wyoming Department of Education (WDE), Wyoming Community Colleges, University of Wyoming, Wyoming Community College Commission,  Wyoming Business Council, and Wyoming Workforce Services.
