World History A (Online)

Course Sequence/Credit: This is a 1 Trimester course for .5 credits. (Typically taken during 10th grade)Course Description: This is a general survey course in World History. While some emphasis will be in the history of Western civilization, there is mych value in learning hte history of other parts of the world. Units of study in the first trimester will include: Early Civilizations, World Religions, The Middle Ages & Great Global Convergence, The Renaissance & Enlightenment, Revolutions in America & Europe (political, social and industrial). Also taught are Historical Thinking such as understanding cause and effect, determining turning points, differing between perspectives, analyzing primary sources, etc.
