Districts can apply for the Wyoming Education Trust Fund Grant to create new, innovative, and improved educational opportunities for all grade levels.

Funding is available for the following types of opportunities:

  • Curriculum development.
  • Operational initiatives.
  • Administrator and staff development and improvement programs.
  • Acquisition of technological equipment.

The application window for the Wyoming Education Trust Fund Grant for FY27 opens on January 5, 2026, and closes on March 5, 2026.

Funds through the Wyoming Trust Fund for Innovative Education are available to any public school district for one year. Districts may apply individually or with other districts and educational institutions. Approximately $250,000 is available each year, with an estimated five to seven grants to be awarded. The maximum award is $50,000 per grant. Grant funds will be available for districts to use beginning July 1 in the year funds were awarded through June 30 of the following year.

At least one qualifying grant will be awarded, if possible, in each of the following classifications based on average daily membership (ADM):

  • Classification I – Less than 500 ADM.
  • Classification II – 500 but less than 1,000 ADM.
  • Classification III – 1,000 but less than 2,000 ADM.
  • Classification IV – 2,000 or greater ADM.

Important Requirements:

  • Programs must supplement, not supplant (replace), existing courses and curriculum.
  • No salaries (100 or 200 series expenditures) may be funded through this grant.
  • Priority will be given to programs that are transferable to other districts, provide matching funds from non-state sources, and demonstrate sustainability.
