PSYCHOLOGY SEM 1
Psychology is the scientific study of behavior and mental processes. Students will examine principles that have the potential to enrich their experiences. Students will apply psychology’s goals of predicting, describing, explaining and controlling behaviors through a variety of case studies. Students will discover the power of classical and operant conditioning. A personal portfolio will be created with examples of learning styles, personality types, multiple intelligences and problem solving strategies. The successful psychology student will apply current genetic research to a variety of topics and apply this data to public policy. Each student will complete a District Assessment Research Paper on the economic and societal costs of mental illness. This project will be used to demonstrate proficiency.
