Language Arts 6 B

Generally offered in the second semester, this course strengthens key language arts skills essential for academic success. Students read and analyze a range of informational and fictional texts, supported by strategies to boost engagement and comprehension. Through written and oral assignments, they practice using standard English to express ideas clearly. Writing expressive, analytical, and procedural pieces helps build strong communication skills. Vocabulary is taught explicitly and through strategies for independent growth. Students also study grammar, usage, mechanics, sentence structure, and punctuation. Discussions promote engagement and foster a sense of community.
