Financial Algebra A – H
In Financial Algebra, students will learn the mathematics to understand financial applications. The course employs algebra, probability and statistics, and geometry to solve financial problems that occur in everyday life. Real-world problems in investing, credit, banking, auto insurance, mortgages, employment, income taxes, budgeting, and planning for retirement are solved by applying the relevant mathematics. Projects, computer spreadsheets, and graphing calculators are key components of the course. Prerequisites: Algebra I (or Algebra Concepts 1 & 2) and Geometry. Additional Information: The course is designed for students who have not completed Algebra 2 or are not pursuing upper levels of the Hathaway scholarship.
