CRIMINOLOGY (V)
Criminology is an elective course designed to introduce students to studying criminal behavior. Throughout the course, students will examine how criminal thought has and does influence our social, political, and economic policies. Students will cover many topics, including: the concepts of crime, law, and criminology, the theories of crime causation, crime typologies, and the criminal justice system. Within these topics, students will examine: the nature and extent of crime, the victims and victimization, social structures, social conflict, critical criminology, restorative justice, interpersonal violence, political crime, terrorism, property crime, white-collar crime, cybercrime, organized crime, criminal justice, the courts, and punishment and correctives.
